Frequently Asked Questions

What is your school policy for closure during inclement weather?

Inclement weather or other emergency circumstances may make it necessary to close school or delay our opening by 1 hour. If we decide to do one of these, we will notify parents via email and social media posts including Facebook and Instagram. You will need to make sure to check one of these avenues on mornings that there is inclement weather. Five (5) snow days are allowed in the calendar for inclement weather closings. If more than five (5) days are missed, make-up days will be scheduled. If our optional programs are missed because of inclement weather on a day your child was enrolled, you will be credited for another day before the end of the school year that you can schedule at your convenience.

What are your hours?

Children should arrive between 8:45 and 9:05 a.m. each morning. Dismissal is between 11:55 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. An Early Arrival program is available each weekday from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., and an after school Stay & Play program is offered daily from noon to 1:30 or 2:30 p.m. for additional fees. You can visit our Optional Programs page for more details. Sign ups are done on a monthly basis for all of these programs.

Are you a nut free school?

Epiphany promotes nut-free classrooms and does not allow students or staff to bring food containing any type of nuts (peanuts or tree nuts) or foods processed in a facility that processes nut products into the classrooms. Some of our students have severe nut allergies so we appreciate our families working to keep these students safe. Epiphany is committed to working with students with multiple food allergies and sensitivities. Please talk with the director if you have specific questions.

What kind of snacks/lunches should we pack?

Students should bring a healthy, nut free snack that is easy for them to feed themselves. For our toddler’s and 2’s, food should be cut into bite size pieces to prevent choking. They should also bring a cup for water. We do have a water only policy for snack time. Lunches for those staying for optional programs should follow the same guidelines but can include juice or milk.  Please note that we do not have facilities available to refrigerate or heat lunch items so please pack your child's lunch accordingly.

What should I do if my child is sick?

Please call or email the school anytime your child will be absent. If your child misses school for illness, he/she should not return to school until he/she has been fever-free without medication for 24 hours, has been on antibiotics for 24 hours, has not experienced uncontrollable body excretions for at least 24 hours or has regained his/her usual behavior and appearance. If you are unsure about sending your child to school, keep him/her home. If you have an upcoming planned absence, please let the Director and your child’s teacher know prior to your absence.
